Verify your dead zones !
During the repair of my pedals Momo Racing, I obviously checked that the axes worked properly. For this, I used initially DXTweak, which examines the accuracy of the signal sent by the pedal. No problems had been reported.
But I also had the idea to do a test in GTR2.
And what was not my surprise! While I had set no dead zone, sending a signal to the simulator was done only once the pedal was pressed half. I had to wait to get halfway in order to get effect with accelerator and brakes ! Such a waste of time but also a loss of precision, since I had to do more than 50% of pressure to be able to play with engine power and brake.
After a short search on the Internet and especially thanks to a discussion on the site Racingfr.com, I understood that the simulator had alone decided this dead zone and had entered into the .plr file, which records all driver configuration data.
Short tour in my file and I find this:
Axis [00, 01] Dead Zone = "0.00000" // Controller 1 Y
Axis [00, 01] Sensitivity = "0.50000"
Axis [00, 01] Center = "0.50000"
Because it wanted to center my axis, the simulator had deprived me of half of its stroke. I changed like this:
Axis [00, 01] Dead Zone = "0.00000" // Controller 1 Y
Axis [00, 01] Sensitivity = "0.50000"
Axis [00, 01] Center = "1.00000"
And so I found two pedals with 100% of signal .
