I try a different point of view...

In one of my previous articles, I already explained the importance of a good point of view in the simulator.

I continue my research about this subject, because my last choice has some limitations that I discovered in one of my last races.

By using in fact only the virtual mirror, I deprive myself of a great part of the field of vision. Which has recently caused an accident, as I closed the door to the car that passed me.

I do not want that to happen again. To fix this, I have to use the outside mirror. And with no widescreen, I am greatly obliged to move back the seat in the virtual cockpit.

What gives this.

It was particularly useful for me during a new race, since it allowed me to have an excellent field of vision around the car (except perhaps on the right side). And even with the seat in that situation, the informations on the dashboard remain legible.

But - there's always a "but" - the perspective is skewed. Let me explain : to create the visual sensation of perspective, the game distorts the display. The more you push back the seat, the more the picture is distorted, the more you advance, the more the perspective disappears, the image seems to be flattened.

So I must now find a setting, certainly in my avatar PLR file to change that, and thus to have less the impression that the cars are not far ahead of me.
