Sortie de Virtual Racing

Pour les débutants en Simracing, les éditions Larivière ont lancé un nouveau magazine : Virtual Racing.
Ceux qui éditent également MicroSim, la revue consacrée à la simulation aéronautique principalement, ne sont pas les premiers, à ma connaissance, à avoir franchi le pas d'une publication consacrée à notre passion. Il y avait eu avant eux, Live-Sim, qui avait l'avantage d'être gratuit.

Ce nouveau support se donne donc pour objectif de nous présenter le Simracing et de nous aider, nous les débutants, à faire nos premiers pas.
Disons-le tout de suite : c'est très beau, très bien mis en page, très bien écrit, avec des sujets très intéressants.


Au sommaire :
- actus logiciel et matériel,
- présentation de salles de simulateurs, ici I-Way,
- interview d'un simracer (dans le premier numéro, c'est Gaël Paletou, l'un des vainqueurs de la GT Academy, aujourd'hui pilote Nissan en GT),
- dossier Project Cars,
- articles sur le volant Thrustmaster T300RS et sur les cockpits,
- décryptage du circuit de Spa-Francorchamps ou comment et où freiner et réaccélérer,
- un descriptif des aides au pilotage,
- et enfin un panorama des principales plate-formes de simulation (certains appellent cela encore des jeux vidéo).
En bref, une belle vue générale sur la discipline.

Je reste pour ma part un peu sur ma faim. Peut-être suis-je trop perfectionniste, ou suis-je simplement déjà au-delà du stade de débutant ? Mais cela manque de profondeur, de précision, de techniques. Finalement, c'est bien destiné aux débutants, et non pas aux simracers hardcore dont je dois faire partie.

Attendons le numéro suivant pour voir si cette impression se confirme.

Virtual Racing : a new magazine about Simracing

For beginners in SimRacing, Larivière editions launched a new magazine in french : Virtual Racing.
Those who also publish MicroSim, the magazine dedicated to aviation simulation mainly, are not the first, to my knowledge, to have taken the step of a publication dedicated to our passion. There had been before them, Live-Sim, which had the advantage of being free.

This new medium has therefore the aim of introducing to us the SimRacing and of helping us, beginners, to take our first steps.

Let's say right away : it's very beautiful, very well laid out, very well written, with interesting subjects.


In summary :

- Presentation of simulators rooms, here I-Way,
- Interview with a simracer (in the first issue, it's Gaël Paletou, one of the winners of the GT Academy, now Nissan GT driver),
- Article about Project Cars,
- Articles about the wheel Thrustmaster T300RS and cockpits,
- Decryption of Spa-Francorchamps circuit and how and where to brake and accelerate again,
- A description of the driving aids,
- And finally an overview of the main platforms of simulation (some call it even video games).
In short, a good general view of the discipline.

I remain a little on my hunger. Maybe I'm too perfectionist, or am I simply already beyond the beginner stage? But it suffers from a lack of depth, precision techniques. Finally, it is intended for beginners, not hardcore simracers which I must be part of.

Let's expect the next issue to see if this impression is confirmed.
